first he used a spell to control a goblin to get to Belitrixs' volt to get the cup then a bunch of goblins came and tryed to get him, ron and Hermione. then the dragon some how got out of its' restrants. Harry ron and Hermione jumped on the dragons' back as it was it was about to take off, they then proceded to ride said dragon to a lake
