Mom came into the kitchen dressed in a long black skirt and a tan long sleeve shirt. "Good morning girls!" She kissed my head and hugged Stacy. "Hey mom, where's daddy?" Stacy asked. "He's sleeping in, he got home late last night from work," Mom said while peeling a banana. I sat down at the kitchen table with Stacy,"Are you taking me to school today Stace?" She nodded,"Yeah, I want to see you're new high school." Stacy goes to Caymen Junior Senior High, there, she's the most popular girl. Mom looked at the clock, "You guys better get going if you want to get to school on time." Stacy got up, got her car keys and opened the door,"I'll wait for you in the car, hurry up and get out." I nodded, then grabbed a fruit bar and walked to the door. "Have a nice day at school, honey! And remember, if you need anything just call me and if....." I quickly opened the door,"Yeah, sure, bye Mom!" I closed the door and rushed over to Stacy's car. "Get in Katie! Hurry up, we're going to be late, jeez!"
Chapter Two
"Have a nice day Katie!" Stacy yelled as I got out of the car. I shrugged,"Bye! Thanks for driving me!" She nodded. I closed the door and placed my backpack on my back. I waved as Stacy drove out of the parking lot. There were teens walking all around me, talking, texting, kissing, ew. I looked up at the school and my mouth dropped open,"Wow." I said under my breath. I breathed out and started walking up to the front door. I saw a group of girls giggling at, well, me. I looked the other way and started walking faster, I thought, "Not even in the school, and I'm already getting teased, fantasitc!" I just held my chin up high and walked through the door. I looked at my surroundings, then thought,"Hello Millington High, here I come."
I was about to walk up to the front desk when someone ran into me from behind. "Ow!" the person said, sounded like a girl. I turned around and asked,"Woah, are you okay?" She balanced herself and nodded,"Sorry I ran into you! Those doors, man, they're like people out to get you or something. " I smiled and turned to walk over to the front desk. "Wait!" the girl who had bumped into me said. I turned around to look at her,"What?" She frowned,"You're just gonna walk away like that? Not even introducing yourself?" I bit my lip, I gotta start being less shy! The girl rolled her eyes and said,"Fine, I'm Christina." Then she held out her hand. I smiled,"I'm Katie." Then we shook hands. I told her,"I need to get to the front desk." Christina smiled,"Cool, I'm new here too!"

I nodded,"Look, we should really get to the front desk." She said,"Yeah, we should." We walked up to the front desk in silence, I didn't really know what to say anyways.
"Hi, we're new here, I'm Christina Val, and this is Katie, um...." Christina said to the secretary lady. "Oh, I'm Katie Carlington." The woman smiled,"Hello girls, I'm Miss Conner. I see you are on my list for freshman, both of you start in English, which is upstairs, Room 481. Katie, here's your schedule, and Christina, here's yours." She handed us each a piece of paper that had our schedule for each day on it. "Thanks!" I told Miss Conner, then Christina and I walked away.
When we got to Room 481, we opened the door and chose seats in the front next to each other. "So, are you doing anything today, like, after school?" Christina asked as I put my backpack down. "I think my sister is gonna take me get my school supplies today, or else my mom or dad will," I told her. She nodded,"Oh, okay, because I was thinking we could just walk around town or something. But since you can't, I'll just walk home by myself." Even though I felt bad about not hanging out with Christina, I really needed to get my supplies today.
Chapter Three
We waited in the classroom as kids piled in. Some kids laughed at me, the usual, but I just waited. Finally, the teacher came in. "Hello, class! I am Mrs. Roberson, and for all the freshman here, as you can see, you are sharing this class with sophomore's too." I looked around and realized that there were sophomore's here. "Today, everyone is going to say their names and they're favorite thing to do. You start." She pointed to Christina. "Hi, I'm Christina and I like to swim." Now, my turn,"Oh, I'm uh, Katie and I like to play chess." A couple kids in the back laughed but I just ignored them.
Most boys had said they like to play sports or watch TV, and most of the girls said they like shopping and doing sports.
