Who takes karate?

who takes karate?
i do and i love it.
im purple belt, the 5th belt in my style.
what belt are you?

I`ve never been interested in it. But my sister is trying to find somewhere to take it. We just can`t find a place for her yet.

I don't take Karate but I take Taekwon-do and I am a red belt, which is two belts from Black Belt in my style. In between belts are stripes, so it is really the last solid belt before black belt. After red belt come black stripe.

I always thought Tae-Kwon-Do was a style of karate, that's what everyone always tells me.

It isn't a style of karate. Taekwon-do was created in Korea. However, some of the kicks and blocks are simmilar or about the same. But the patterns and belts are diffrent.

I did like 4 years ago. I got to purple belt. That was probably the 5th or 6th belt. But we moved. And you moved up like every month or 2.

In Taekwondo, it takes longer to get another belt each time you go up, until about a 6 month wait from black stripe for your first degree blackbelt test. Then you have to wait a year or longer to get your next degree.
When you are a white belt, you only have to wait about a month to test, if you know all you were taught. Because if you don't know your stuff, you can't test.

my brother used to take it and i would practice with all the guys i loved it and am trying to get back into it
