In our class we have to do G.A.P which stans for great american packet. You get a medal and a certificate If you pass it. In GAP you have memorize the preamble, states and capitals,presients, pledge of allegiance, and you have to memorize the gettysburgh adress...ugh. I was the first one in the class to complete it. I finished it about 5 months ago and it started 6 months ago. Only 3 students got the award. Yesterday was the deadline, that is good because all of these kids haven't evn past the presidents and they've had 6 months to do it.

thats kinda funny instead of G.A.P, in Missouri its called M.A.P it stands for missouri assesment program , it basically testing if u learned anything during the year. Like this year we only had to test Lang. arts and math but sumtimes we do world history

Hmm, that's interesting. I don't think we have that at our school, but I do know we have to memorize the states & capitals for 7th grade. But I haven't heard of that program. Memorizing the Gettysburg Address sounds...I hate to say it but...painful. No surprise only three kids did it.

Oh yeah, and we memorized the preamble in 6th grade for valuable prizes (I got a sweet pen). Plus, we've been memorizing the P of A since like, pre-k. I don't know about other schools though.
