Its hard to explain why this is a problem but I'll try. First off just so you know im self- concious, insecure, and shy around boys I like sometimes. Well I liked this one boy he was in 6th grade and Im in 7th but he wasn't all that popular and I don't think hr's ever dated a girl. Next, I told 2 of my closest friends I like him and they kept pushing me to asking him out. Next, One of my closest friends without anyone knowing went up to him snd said Would you go out with Abby hypothetically speaking. Then, at lunch he came up to the table I sit at with friends and said "Hi" and I ignored him and talked to my other friends because I was confused why he would just come out of the blue. So I turn to see my close friend blushing and biting her lower lip and during study hall I got it out of her of what she did. And I was then scared to face him. Though sadly things got worse. After 7th period my other close friend without knowing what happened or anyone else knowing what she was going to do she went up to him and said, "Abby really likes you so you should go out with her." Then he said, "The (other friend) just told me that." and my friend said "huh?" and she left. Then without knowing what my other friend did I rean to catch my bus which would leave any second and while I was walking towards it the boy comes up and says Hi and I keep my head dwn and keep walking nd say Hi. And the day after we ignored each other.
See the problem...?
Even if he did say yes then it would be hard to talk to him and if he said no it would ruin are friendship....
My friend tells me I'm pretty but I dont think so... thats why I dont think he'd like me anyway so if I was going to ask him out without help I would have first improved my looks by getting a straight perm. Though now I am stuck in a situation where I can't prepare but hope for a good outcome.

find time to talk to him, if you get to shy or scared, don't ignore him or he will start thinking that your friends just told him that as a joke. go up to him and just say something that will start a conversation, cuz the truth is, he is more than likely thinking that you won't like him because you are older. Older girls rarely go out with younger guys, its usually the other way. do something in public too, cuz otherwise he will think that your hiding it so your rep won't be damaged.

Lol thx Cat I see what you mean about talking to him and not obsessing (I find obsessing strange O_o) Well it seems like my friends are playing matchmaker -.- looking at one of them told me they will not talk to me during a club were in so I'll be stuck having to talk to him and the other told me that he asked her Why I would like him and she said cus she thinks ur nice so im pretty much jus trying to keep confindence that I can talk to him..... plus he figured out now that I had nothing to do with my friends telling him (relief!)

Im not sure... its very strange.... my friend sits near him and she told me he'd go out with me but I'll be able to talk to his face next week because we both are in the same estracrucilar activity so we will both be at the competition
