I would like to post something about being vegatarian.
I tried to be a vegatarian and it pretty much lasted for about a week.I was pretty comited to it untill my mom explained to me that yes it does complete the circle of life.No when we die we arent slaughtered and cut into pieces, but living orginisums (cant spell today) do eat us.When we are burried after we die we get eaten.Yes its not as dramatic as what we do to cows, pigs ect. But its the circle of life.Allot of people probally disagree with me but its just my opinion. And I am not saying that anyone who is a vegatarian is stupid and doesnt know what they`re doing because I know what it feels like to be called stupid for something you are really commited to.Please dont missinturpret (spelling) what I am trying to say.
What I have bolded is what I really disagree with.
Yes, we probably get eaten while we are dead. However, the animals that eat us when we die do not kill us, because, as you stated, we are already dead. When we kill pigs, cows, turkeys, and chickens, MUCH more often than not they are killed savagely in slaughterhouses.
Circle of Life, Circle of Life. We have disrupted the circle of life by causing global warming. I don't think that humans really understand the circle of life, most of them anyway. The circle of life is supposed to be a natural thing. Killing animals in a dirty slaughterhouse, packaging them in plastic and distributing them around the country isn't natural at all. What is natural is a lion killing an antelope for food. Does the lion package the antelope and put it in a gas-guzzling truck? No, he eats the antelope right there, naturally. Lions aren't causing global warming, not by a long shot. Humans are, the evidence is right in front of our face.
And I'd like to direct you to this quote I found on a website:
Quote:
Animals fed on grain and those which rely on grazing need more water than grain crops. According to the USDA, growing crops for farm animals requires nearly half of the U.S. water supply and 80% of its agricultural land. Animals raised for food in the U.S. consume 90% of the soy crop, 80% of the corn crop, and 70% of its grain. In tracking food animal production from the feed through to the dinner table, the inefficiencies of meat, milk and egg production range from a 4:1 energy input to protein output ratio up to 54:1. The result is that producing animal-based food is typically much less efficient than the harvesting of grains, vegetables, legumes, seeds and fruits.
The animals that we breed for food eat most of the crops that humans eat, including vegetarians. Vegetarians/pescetarians/vegans help the environment by decreasing the demand of meat around the country. If we stopped breeding animals for food and let them breed naturally and die off naturally, then we could decrease this number, therefore having more of our food, this could also aid in ending world hunger. With all the extra food, we could give it to countries in need!

I accidentaly choose I hate it animals have a right to live! but I ment to click In some ways I agree. For example, if a type of puppy was endangered it would be helpful if their was a breeding farm for that type of puppy

Breeding like that is different. That is breeding for the sake of the species. The breeding I was talking about is the breeding used to get more animals to slaughter.

I am probably reading this wrong but are you saying dogs should be breeding as puppies or did you mean to say if a certain breed was endangered??
Powergirl? Do you drink OJ? Those poor living oranges had to lose their life so you could drink their juice! tsk tsk

well back, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when, i mean like cavemen times, we ate antelope and buffalo, and allot of meat. the food industry is just making easier for us to eat it, packaging it for us. we are eating it naturally. i bet you eat eggs right? eggs are what are going to become a chicken/hen. wouldn't that be destroying the chicken population?
i am all for meat. i like meat, i dont eat it all the time, i dont hate it, i dont like the fact that what im eating was once living and had a face, but i like it. I absolutley positively hate hate hate animal abuse! i dont even know who even would think about doing something like that. so please dont finish reading this post thinking that i enjoy the fact that animals are being killed, and slaughtered. but it is truly the CIRCLE OF LIFE.

Back in cavemen times we weren't destroying the planet with global warming, you see.
A lot of people say that people weren't meant to be vegetarians because we have incisors, those teeth that help us chew meat. Cows have incisors, and they are vegetarians.
I do eat eggs, but eggs are unfertilized chicks. Meaning, if the male had any part to do with it, yes, I would be destroying a young chicken. But instead, eggs are just what female chickens make when they think they might have a chick. So therefore I'm not doing anything wrong besides eating something that would be buried in the ground and added to the soil perhaps, or just wasted.
A lot of you don't seem to understand what a circle is.
Circle: a closed plane curve consisting of all points at a given distance from a point within it called the center. Equation: x 2 + y2 = r2.
Now, as for the Circle of Life thing, it's a SONG from the Lion King, not the answer to why you eat meat. Now, when you are asked why you eat meat, here is an appropriate answer:
"I find it acceptable to kill innocent, living things for food."
It's as simple as that. If you eat meat, that is your answer. Is there any way that you can deny it?

Let's get back on topic here guys. The thread was about animal abuse not whether eating a cow is right or wrong. PowerGirl, You think it's wrong to eat animals, myself and a few others like our burgers, think it's fine. Let's leave it at that. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I don't like it shoved in my face that someone thinks what I chose is "so wrong". I think for you to say this " "I find it acceptable to kill innocent, living things for food."" is completely judgmental. If you want to be technically plants are living and you eat those. No one is knocking you down for having chosen not to eat meat so don't make light that we chose to. Just because it is right for you doesn't make it right all together. Let's just stick with the topic of the thread.
