How can you be aware of being ignorant? Isn't ignorance when you think you know something but you don't? Or just completely unaware? If you are aware of being unaware...my brain hurts a little.

I don't really get this thread, but here's the definition of ignorant.
1 a: destitute of knowledge or education <an ignorant society> ; also: lacking knowledge or comprehension of the thing specified <parents ignorant of modern mathematics> b: resulting from or showing lack of knowledge or intelligence <ignorant errors>
And my old Social Studies teacher told us that ignorant just means that you have not been taught something yet...

Ignorance is very similar to being uneducated and is something easily remedied. I am still ignorant about a lot of things and I have been pretending to be an adult for a VERY long time. You just need to acknowledge you don't know about some things and take the time to learn about them.
Ignorance is completely different from stupidity **sorry mods** which is not always fixable with education.
American Heritage Dictionary - stu·pid
Slow to learn or understand; obtuse.
Tending to make poor decisions or careless mistakes.
Marked by a lack of intelligence or care; foolish or careless: a stupid mistake.
Dazed, stunned, or stupefied.
Pointless; worthless: a stupid job.
