I was just reading a book and in one chapter it talks about how
MENTAL TRAINING will get the same results as actually practicing.

That is, imagining you are playing soccer in your mind will help you improve your soccer skills without even actually playing.

This doesn't mean that you can get better at the piano if you don't know how to play the piano yet, or do the splits of you're not that flexible, or get stronger by thinking about lifting weights. It just means you can improve your skills just by thinking about it. Just imagining yourself, throwing a ball, or sinking a basket, and you get better at it.
So does that mean that just thinking could ever take the place of actually practicing?
