I'm sorry but, you really have to check reality for a minute. Global warming is already causing horrible effects. Don't you think that Jesus would have come by now if he was to come at all?
No I dont think so.He picks the perfect time for everything.
And I have checked my reality and it has told me God has a reason 4 everything and I will have to ask him why when I get 2 Heaven.
and I have read some articles on the subject and a magority of scientist is not enough 4 me infact all of the scientist is not enough 4 me I stand on my beliefs and I am proud of it.I do try to stop allot of non earth friendly things. Earlier my friend threw here cup on the ground and I started going all crazy saying littering is not good 4 the enviroment.I do try to help the earth our home but if this is the way God wants to come down again and take us to Heaven then let it be. The earth is not our only home.

They're *might* be a Heaven, but there is nothing truly proved. I really don't think that you should be calling the Earth "not our only home" because it is the home that you live in now. If someone were to tear your house down with all your possessions, family members, pets, would you say it's "not your only home"?
The Earth is so important, so precious. How can you treat it like a rest stop, just waiting for God to come take you away from it? Aren't you always told to enjoy life and live it to the fullest? You can't do that if you can't breathe from pollution.
I'm glad that you have beliefs and all but they can't replace the truth right in front of you, the Earth, the presence of life.

Just so that you are all aware, the admins are constantly monitoring this thread as we don't want it to get out of control. So far, I am VERY impressed that you have all been able to debate this without insulting one another. If it should ever start to get personal we will close it. Honestly, so many of you have made some very intelligent and well thought posts on both sides of this debate.
I *personally* think that it is impossible to ignore the evidence that global warming is a reality that we need to deal with. Powergirl and Loony remind me alot of myself when I was younger. Unfortunately, just like Holly, I drive an SUV, take long, hot showers, and barely recycle. I am trying to make small changes like participating in our recycling program more, making fewer trips (or combining them when I do) and trying to financially support companies that are taking steps to reduce waste.

Who needs any more proof than the Bible that there is a Heaven, I sure dont.
I probally wouldnt say "not my only home" at first. but to be truthfull it isnt my only home just like earth isnt our only home.It is a rest stop on your narrow path to Heaven.It is precious and I want to try to save it cuz its the most precious rest stop ever. its the final stop and only stop on our way to Heaven, and you know what, its not really a stop.Its the period of our journy that we learn and spread the Word of God a.k.a the Bible. the % of scientist saying global warming is true, well how many of them refer to the Bible or God and how many of them are just posted in articles cuz they are more popular than other Scientist who dont believe in it.How do u know that they just arent doing this 4 the money$$.and how do you know this isnt just a cycle of the earth, how hot do you think it had to get to melt all the ice from the ice ages. anyway even IF global warming is happening then we cant do much to stop it we can delay it but the earth goes in cycles the ice age and all other things like that they are cycles we couldnt stop that if we tried.The earths position could be the problem of higher temp. or the core and/or mantle is heating
nobody no matter how much science or religious beliefs they have nobody can trully explain why the earth is heating up. ONLY God can our greatest super hero. And you know what we will have to ask Him about it when we get to the greatest party, there is a.k.a HEAVEN

So yes, I am a very religious person. But I don't believe that God will come down and take us to heaven. I think that whoever experiences the end of the world will go straight to heaven, and will not have to wait in purgatory.

By being a religious person you have basically contradicted your own religion. Jesus was supposed to be a kind person. If he was to come down at all then he would take all human beings. Jesus does not discriminate as far as I am concerned.
He did not come down during dire times such as the Black Plague which killed one third of the Earth's population at the time. In this time of need for something to save us, we only need ourselves. We need the whole world. If religion clouds your visions of reality then what is the help of it? If religion is the wool over your eyes...?
Have you ever heard the story of the two girls who were hoping not to be late to school? One girl got on her knees and prayed, the other prayed while running. Which one do you think got her prayer answered?
If we are to stop global warming then we need to solve it ourselves. We cannot rely on God like spoiled kids. Because frankly that is how a lot of people are acting. I don't think that God will save people who do not try to save themselves first.
