Eggplants aren`t vegtables they`re really fruits.

When the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers play football at home, the stadium becomes the state's third largest city.

Most car horns honk in the key of 'F'.

In Michigan, a woman isn't allowed to cut her own hair without her husband's permission.

In Texas it's illegal to put graffiti on someone else's cow, But if its yours its perfectly fine.

In ancient Rome it was considered a sign of leadership to be born with a crooked nose.

President Kennedy was the fastest random speaker in the world with upwards of 350 words per minute.

In the average lifetime, a person will walk the equivalent of 5 times around the equator.

Odontophobia is the fear of teeth.

The 57 on Heinz ketchup bottles represents the number of varieties of pickles the company once had.

In the early days of the telephone, operators would pick up a call and use the phrase, "Well, are you there?". It wasn't until 1895 that someone suggested answering the phone with the phrase "number please?

" The surface area of an average-sized brick is 79 cm squared.

The most common name in the world is Mohammed.

It is believed that Shakespeare was 46 around the time that the King James Version of the Bible was written. In Psalms 46, the 46th word from the first word is shake and the 46th word from the last word is spear.

Karoke means "empty orchestra" in Japanese.

Okay, here's some more. :

*In Kansas a very large tornado picked up everything on the farm except for the one cow that they ever owned. The next day it was picked up by a hurricane when they had taken it to Florida to get to safety.

*It takes 35 to 65 minks to produce the average mink coat. The numbers for other types of fur coats are: beaver - 15; fox - 15 to 25; ermine - 150; chinchilla - 60 to 100. ()

*The chances of your dying on the trip to buy your MegaBucks ticket is greater than your chance of winning.

*Beluga whales are at the top of the food chain. A nice distinction, but it also means they acquire the sum total of toxins acquired by organisms all the way down the chain because these toxins such as PCB and heavy metal poisoning don't break down. Belugas, in fact, are so full of contaminants, when they are found beached they qualify as a toxic biohazard.

*According to the American Solar Energy Society, enough sunlight falls on the earth's surface each minute to meet world energy demand for an entire year. (So, do you need ANOTHER reason to convert to solar energy? My family apparently does. )

*Today, only three species of elephant remain and they are all threatened by hunting and habitat destruction. (But. . .I wuv elephants. )

*If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle; if the horse has one front leg in the air, the person died as a result of wounds received in battle; if the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.

*Dolphins sleep at night just below the surface of the water. They frequently rise to the surface for air.

*Women blink nearly twice as much as men.

*The worlds most smallest octopus, the Blue Ring, is also the worlds most poisonous.

*The highest mountain in the world is not Mt. Everest. The Earth is not perfectly round, it is like when you roll a piece of silly putty in a ball and squish the top a little bit. Therefore, the equator is popped out. Seeing as how the Himalaya's are some ways away from the equator, although Mt. Everest is highest above sea level, the highest point on Earth is somewhere in the Andes in South America.

*Clans of long ago that wanted to get rid of their unwanted people without killing them used to burn their houses down - hence the expression "to get fired." (Glad it's not that *literal* anymore.)

*Hitler was regularly given injections of amphetamine by his doctor. Turns out, to nobody's surprise, that Hitler was mentally unstable. He had syphilis, which in advanced stages causes insane rage. (Mentally unstable, does that mean he was stupid too? *Not surprised*)

Hope you guys are entertained. Have fun with your new potentially useless knowledge! Hope you learned something.
