YOU SHOULD NOT READ THIS THREAD IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO HEAR WHAT HAPPENS!So, if you are reading it this is a great place to talk about it.

We got it this morning and I read the last chapter and epilogue. I have always been really weird about stuff like that. I have to know what happens in the end before I can enjoy the story.

I am really happy with the way it ends. It was exactly how I would have done it! (not that Rowling cares what I would have done)

The one thing that I noticed was that the epilogue (which I loved) leaves the door wide open for a series on the kids. I honestly didn't think that Rowling would close the door on the massive amount of money that Harry has made her

I haven't read the book yet, but I wanted to know what happened. It seems very interesting, but also seems to end without a big bang. I always suspected that Harry would die at the end.

Well, the last chapter is where Voldemort dies so that sort of is the big bang...but then again I haven't read the whole book yet--I am the wierdo who reads the last chapters first.

i thought it was a good story.

Personal opinion here, but I don't think the stories of Harry Potter are over. I think the story with continue with the next generation that was mentioned.

My husband read the last line of the book when he got it just to see if Harry dies or not before he read it LOL!

well im not a fan of harry potter but i wanted to know what had happened to hary and see what everyone is so obessed with but i think it would be more intrsting if one of the charatures died

Um, a bunch of characters died:

Dobby ()
Fred Weasley (my best friend was REALLY upset about that. I was too, but because Fred is cool. Plus I cried. A lot.)
Voldemort (obviously :-) )
Snape (I actually cheered at first, but they when I read that Pensieve chapter I totally changed my mind. He loved Lily! And he sounded like a troubled kid with a true love. . .just made me feel really bad for Snapey.)
Peter Pettigrew (He creeps me out.)
Lupin (wahhhhhhhhhhhh )
Tonks (She was awesomeness!!!!! )
Colin Creevey (He was a cute little kid. Well, he was 16 when he died but. . .in the 2nd movie he was really cute. )

There were more I know, and even though I have the finished book right next to me I'm too lazy to look up all the other characters.
I cried when Lupin said that his son would never know him. That just made me tear up big time. And when the Weasley's were kneeling next to Fred's body. And Fred's death scene.

The Epilogue was ADORABLE. But there were A FEW things I'd have liked to have J.K. mention:

*George Weasley, what happened with him? Did he marry anyone? What about the Joke Shop? Did he have any kids, especially a boy he named Fred?
*How old James Potter Jr. was. He could've been anywhere from 12-17. But they never specified.
*We know Neville got Herbology, but what are the new teachers at Hogwarts besides?
*I THINK Minerva McGonagal is Headmaster now but. . .did J.K. ever mention that? I saw it in the wikipedia but. . .yeah.

But those are just a few. Overall, it was a beautiful read. . .but a lot of things got left unsaid. And. . .

James Potter Jr. said that he saw Teddy Lupin kissing Victoire. Victoire is (most likely) the child of Fleur and Bill. But, why would Teddy be at King's Cross? He would be 19 years old by then, as in, no longer going to Hogwarts. Since in fact he was born BEFORE Lupin and Tonks died, which was 19 years ago.

Ok, now I'm done.
