Alot of people I know refuse to read this book because of some religious issues. I thought the book was great! I don't understand why a fictional event should stop people from reading a great book.
Have you ever read The Golden Compass?
What did you think about it?
And does this religous issue prevent you from reading it?
*For those that don't know the book was writen by an atheist (I think). And alot of people seem to think that this compass controls the universe.Witch whould meen that God didnt exist.This is false.They also "kill" a God like person.Not God.Please post your thoughts on this!*

You are wrong they DO Kill GOD(And the author admitted that he hates god and would love to kill him if he had the chance) and I dont read it because I AM a Christian and I dont want to be Brainwashed be this garbage.

I am reading it at the moment...I'm not too far, so I might have just spoiled the ending, but oh well.

As for the religious stuff, I'm Christian, but I know that it's just a book...my religion isn't going to stop me from finishing it.

Just because a book represents or contains a different religion shouldn't stop you from reading it. Rather, it opens your eyes. That's what books are meant to do. If you like Harry Potter, apparently Christians hate it.
