Diary of a Wimpy Kid Review By CovaKid7

Last year I read the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid and thoroughly enjoyed it. So when the movie came out I was very excited to see it, but I didn’t get a chance to until it came to ON DEMAND. When I finally watched it I thought it was completely worth the wait. I thought every moment of the movie was just like the book which was funny, put together perfectly, and one of the best movies I have ever seen. It totally and completely exceeded my expectations.
Just like the book, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” the movie was a fun and creative idea of what middle school might be like for the nerds, and how middle school is for everyone else too. The story follows the life of Greg Heffley as he tries to conquer middle school with his best friend, Rowley Jefferson. Throughout the whole movie Greg tries to make his best friend Rowley one of the “cooler kids “like he thinks he is, but he is actually one of the most unpopular kids in the school.
I recommend this movie to anyone who is up for a few good laughs about the trials and tribulations middle-schoolers can get into. But more than the movie, I highly recommend the book which is one I guarantee you won’t be able to put down.

School! By Grizzlybear

For a lot of people, the new school term is starting soon. Some people look forward to it, but some don’t. And well, I’m not too sure. There are some kids in my class that I’m really looking forward to seeing but not the others. That’s only natural, right? I’ve put together a little ‘to do list’ for you guys to help you prepare for the new year!
1. If you haven’t gotten your uniform already, I’d recommend getting it soon; before everyone does last minute uniform things and the shops get too busy.
2. If you’re not looking forward to the new year make a list of all the positive things. For example you could write ‘looking forward to seeing friends’ or ‘will be the oldest kids in school’
3. Look around your house for all the stationary. I know it’s nice to buy brand-new stuff, but in the long-run it could save a lot of money using the things you already have!
4. Start going to bed earlier and getting up earlier. That way it will become easier when the time really comes.
To everyone who will soon start school/has started already GOOD LUCK!

James and the Giant Peach The Special Edition Review
August 3, 2010 by ChiefGokuC
Filed under Featured Content, Kid Testing Panel Thinks..., Tween Celebs Talk
I must admit that it has been a VERY long time since I actually sat down and watched James and the Giant Peach. When I first watched the movie I must have been somewhere between 7 and 8, and when I first watched the movie I found it very strange, but likable. Today, after re-watching it, I still hold the same sentiment. The movie is definitely a strange creation, but everything involving Tim Burton is! However, this movie is one for everyone as it definitely speaks to all ages.
The story starts out with a young boy named James who has just lost his parents to a terrible storm which he dubs “The Great Rhino in the Sky”. From then on James is forced to live with his terrible aunts who make him work every day. Until one day a mysterious stranger gives him a bag of crocodile tongues (weird, I know) which have magical powers! Unfortunately, James spills the bag out into the garden which then grows a giant peach, which begins his inspirational and magical journey across the Atlantic Ocean to New York City!
Any fan of the original would love this Disney Blu-Ray and DVD remastered version. The movie also comes with many special features like an interactive game, a behind the scenes look at the making of the film, a music video performed by Randy Newman, and the original theatrical trailer.
Hopefully if you are a fan of Disney or of Tim Burton, you will pick up this movie and enjoy a nostalgic, 79 minute trip to the past!

Ramona and Beezus Coming to Theaters July 23

Yesterday my family and I were invited to go see an early viewing of Ramona and Beezus. After reading all of the books and watching some of the trailers for the movie, I have to say that I was really worried that the movie would be completely different from the books. First off, this post will not contain any spoilers so feel free to read this review!
First, I think that the acting was great, you could really tell that the actors were very in touch with their characters, especially Ramona! Second, for anyone who doesn’t know, this movie is pretty much all of the books scrunched into one movie, and they did a great job taking small and large parts from each book. There were also many jokes that only true fans would understand because they were taken from the books and not fully explained in the movie.
Some might think that this movie is a simple comedy but it is so much more than that. It is a coming of age story for both Ramona and Beezus as they both have to tackle the hardships that adult life throws at them (Ok, for this part my brother helped J). All in all, I really liked the movie and I’m glad to say that this movie isn’t only for kids or fans of the series. It is really a fantastic movie with a deep message.

We are having a blast (pun intended) with this at our house! Although we admittedly don’t really play with the game pieces much but that is the whole point of Toy Story 3 right? Make your own fun.
Mom likes that the flying discs are yet to break anything. They don’t pack that big of a punch but the boys still love shooting one another at safe things. Great addition to all the Toy Story play shooting we have going on in this house including the very awesome Toy Story Mania Wii game!
Here are the important details:
Includes 1 space shooter, 12 foam discs, 1 gameboard, 4 cardboard “jail cells”, 20 scoring tokens, 4 purple pawn stands, 8 white pawn stands, 12 character pawns, 1 die and instructions.
Requires 2 AA batteries (not included). For 2 or more players. Ages 5 and up.
