Prologue
Tick Tock… Tick Tock… Ring!!
“Yes! School is out!” I said with great joy.
Thousands of kids ran out of school throwing and ripping papers.
A few nerds were walking out with frowns.
I’m not a nerd though. I’m not really popular though. I was so glad!
I rapidly jumped on the bus and went on home.
My other friends had already left to their vacation. I sat on the boring ride home and watched blue birds fly by. I rested my cheek on my fist. I thought about what summer break would be like.
I finally made it home without home work or anything extra!
I walked in my front door and my dog ran up to me. I scratched his ears with a bright smile on my face. My dad was typing away on his lap top trying to find a good hotel to stay in.
I went into the kitchen and got a glass of milk.
I peered over my dad’s shoulder.
He was looking at a hotel called the Hickory Hollow Inn.
It was located in Hickory Hollow Wood.
It looked like a nice hotel.
It had log outing, an in ground pool, and
Great scenery.
I was so excited!
“Ryan,” dad said “I’ve already loaded up the car.
You want to leave now?”
“Sure dad!” I exclaimed.
I and my dad got into the car and left to Chicago.
