Our family just got back from a week long vacation in Orlando, FL. Each day we visited a different theme park in search of the best of the best to share with YOU! So, what were our teens favorite coasters? Here is a list of the top five rides with rails.
1. Manta
SeaWorld Orlando. Hands down the scariest ride in Orlando simply because it puts you in a laying down, flying on your stomach position. This is one that you really have to pray the harness doesn’t malfunction on or you could be flying your way right into Shamu’s mouth. We loved it, the teens would ride this over and over again but it is the only ride Mom is too scared to go on again. Apparently Santa loves it though. We thought this video on the Inside SeaWorld blog was pretty funny.
2. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit
Getting to choose your own music to ride to is just one thing that makes this cool. We choose Paramoreand Evanescence. But even that may not calm you down as you head for a straight up incline that you know is going to drop at some point. It actually isn’t the drop though that gets you. The spirals are what lift you out of your seat a bit. This one is worth waiting in line for at Universal Studios.
3. Incredible Hulk Coaster
This coaster is still one of the best around. The excitement doesn’t build here. It unleashes pretty much straight out of the gate. Its a fast and furious set of flips and turns with a pretty great water effect typical of Universal. It’s a smooth track so you don’t get a lot of jerkiness with this one. Which we loved. Pure fun, no after headache. This one is right at the entrance of Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Making a two day pass to Universal a smart choice!
4. Kraken
This floorless coaster in SeaWorld Orlando could be considered a classic. Honestly, we had this built up that it would be our favorite. But the scary factor just wasn’t there for us like it was the Manta. Don’t get us wrong. It’s definitely a thrill and for sure worth the wait. We just weren’t as freaked out by it as all the hype led us to believe we would be.
5. Expedition Everest
This wasn’t our first time on this Disney ride housed in Animal Kingdom park so we knew what we were getting into. This ranks up there among our faves though just cause we love the way it switches tracks on you and yanks you backwards.
We had a great time ‘researching’ all these coasters for you. We were hosted by all the theme parks mentioned but that didn’t influence our picks. As always, we are giving you our 100% honest opinion. Want to hear more? Look for our lists later in the week on the best simulator rides and family fun rides.
